Camp Overview
The Team Driven summer camps began as a one week project and have now become a multi-tiered summer camp program featuring three progressive levels for robotics.
BRICKS TO BOT!
This a summer program for kindergarten through third-grade students. It was created to inspire students to pursue their interests in science and technology. Through hands-on building and teamwork, students will complete a Lego WeDo robot each day. Camps start at 9 am and go till 12 pm. Camp is held at the Lee’s Summit High School campus.
Robotics Camp
Each level is a separate one week camp. At each level, students get the opportunity to build a robot to compete in a friendly competition that mimics the FIRST model. Students also participate in team building activities, and snack time to encourage participants to get to know one another. At the beginning of the week, students watch a game animation and are given a packet of rules for the game. From that point on, Team Driven student mentors help participants use their creative abilities to produce a solution for the given challenge.
Level 1:
A summer program created to inspire students to pursue their interests in science and technology through hands-on learning. Level 1 focuses on the design and building of a robot. Camp is for students entering 4th-8th grade.
Level 2:
A summer program created to inspire students to pursue their interests in science and technology through hands-on learning. Level 2 continues where level 1 stops and introduces the basic programming skills for the robots. Camp is for students entering 4th-8th grade.
